  • KLIFOVET restructered and expanded GMP Facilities

    KLIFOVET AG has invested significantly into its facility for storage, manufacturing of veterinary medicinal clinical supplies based in Munich, Germany. After having passed inspection for GMP in January, significant improvements have been implemented into the rooms for products under quarantine, for storage of residue samples, for storage of products for destruction and into the manufacturing area. The GMP certificate granted is limited to the labelling and re-packaging of veterinary clinical supplies. KLIFOVET is also licensed to distribute veterinary medicinal products throughout Europe within the European legal framework.


  • AAVM held in Tel Aviv , Israel

    The 5th International Conference on Antimicrobial Agents in Veterinary Medicine (AAVM) was held in Tel Aviv, as usual perfectly organised by Prof. Stefan Soback. KLIFOVET was represented by Dr. Beate Lohr and Dr. K. Hellmann. Beate presented a poster on "Regulatory Aspects in the EU regarding Antimicrobial Resistance in Veterinary Medicinal Products and Feed Additives", while Klaus gave a presentation on "Management Measures to Improve Animal Health and Reduce Antimicrobial Consumption". The conference gave excellent opportunity on dicussions on the relevance of current surveillance programs on antimicrobial resistance, steps forward as well as the multifactorial und multidisciplinary approach needed to make any progress on this topic. Items on the agenda covered Antimicrobial use, resistance monitoring and surveillance, analytics, modelling and pharmacokinetics, food safety and infection models. KLIFOVET sponsored the AAVM, especially by inviting Dr. Anders Holm from Denmark. Anders gave an excellent talk on "Medicines surveillance and Veterinary conditions in Denmark"


  • Great Success: 7th Munich Seminar on Veterinary Clinical Studies

    On 4th and 5th May, 33 participants were welcomed to the 7th Seminar on Veterinary Clinical Studies by the CEO of KLIFOVET AG, the organiser. Twenty different organisations from 13 different countries represented the animal health and feed industry of Europe and North America, universities, EU national competent authorities and the European commission. The program covered all aspects of the planing, conduct, analysis and reporting of clinical studies in Europe, with special focus on veterinary medicinal products and feed additives. Participants enjoyed the multidisciplinary approach given by the 7 different speakers.


  • GMP Inspection and ISO 9001:2008 audit successfully passed

    In January 2010, KLIFOVET was re-inspected for compliance of GMP and was confirmed to be compliant and received an EU Import licence for certain pharmaceuticals by the Bavarian Authorities. On 1. March 2010, KLIFOVET was audited for compliance with ISO 9001:2008 based on the annually agreed audit scheme of the certifier, DQS, the German subsidiary of DQS-UL, one of the global largest Management system certifier.


  • British Pig Veterinary Society: Few New Drugs in Swine

    At the recently held Conference of the PVS, Dr. Klaus Hellmann gave a presentation on "New Drugs For Swine Disease". The thorough review revealed a bit of frustration picture, as new active ingredients are very rare. New products are mainly Generics, which certainly harmonises the EU market and brings new active ingredients into some countries. However, investment into research for new drugs in swine appear not highly attractive and seem to result in the current lack of new active ingredients in Europe.



  • Dr. Klaus Hellmann resigned as AVC President

    At the General Assembly of the Association of Veterinary Consultants (AVC) held in Rome on 17th October 2009, Dr. Klaus Hellmann terminated his Presidency while being asked to stay on the Board as "Senior Vice-President". The present members in Rome, coming from 10 countries including the US thanked Klaus for "giving the association what he promissed" when he took over in Lisboa in October 2007. For the next two years, Dr. Vincent Beuvry, France, the new president, will be seconded by Dr. Patxi Sarasola from Spain as Vice President, while Dr. Maggie Fisher, UK will serve the association as secretary and Dr. Olivier Roy, France, as treasurer.

    AVC is an association under Belgium laws. The ~ 50 members are veterinarians which are owner or major shareholder of Small Enterprises in Europe and other continents specialised in consulting the Animal Health, Feed and Food and related Industries.

  • KLIFOVET granted GMP for Veterinary Vaccines Clinical Supplies

    After inspection by the GMP inspectors of the regulatory authorities of Upper Bavaria in July, KLIFOVET is proud to announce that we have received the GMP authorisation of handling, labelling and re-packaging of veterinary vaccines. After receiving a GMP authorisation for veterinary pharmaceutical clinical supplies, this will allow KLIFOVET to support our clients in conducting clinical studies for veterinary medicinal products. And it will reduce the workload of our clients in-house. This is an other example of our strong client orientated focus as service supplier for the development and registration of veterinary medicinal products.


  • KLIFOVET authorised to place Feed and Feed Additives on the Market

    After inspection by the regulatory authorities of Upper Bavaria, Feed Department, on 1JUL08, KLIFOVET was granted the permit to place such products on the market including to label feed and feed additives in small quantities. This is a significant improvement in our services for our clients, especially to run efficacy studies in feed (additives) efficiently and timely.
