The AVC (Association of Veterinary Consultants) has launched an initative at the HMAv and other EU organisations to support the availability of veterinary medicinal products as well as research and development within the EU. While most national competent authorities are readily accepting GMP mutual recognition agreements within the EU, certain countries limit R&D activities by implementing further requirments to import such clinical supplies to their country. This delays the start of studies, reduces the options to conduct such studies within certain timeframes and is not complying with current EU legislation. Political action is needed to allow for easier procedures and increase availability of veterinary medicinal products for our pets and food producing animals.
Services of KLIFOVET will be eligible for tax reduction within the current French scheme for support of Research done by French organisations. After inspection by the GMP inspectors of the regulatory authorities of Upper Bavaria in July, KLIFOVET is proud to announce that we have received the GMP authorisation of handling, labelling and re-packaging of veterinary vaccines. After receiving a GMP authorisation for veterinary pharmaceutical clinical supplies, this will allow KLIFOVET to support our clients in conducting clinical studies for veterinary medicinal products. And it will reduce the workload of our clients in-house. This is an other example of our strong client orientated focus as service supplier for the development and registration of veterinary medicinal products.
After inspection by the regulatory authorities of Upper Bavaria, Feed Department, on 1JUL08, KLIFOVET was granted the permit to place such products on the market including to label feed and feed additives in small quantities. This is a significant improvement in our services for our clients, especially to run efficacy studies in feed (additives) efficiently and timely.
KLIFOVET presented either as posters or oral presenations at all global conferences held in 2008 for veterinary clinical species: International Pig Veterinary Society Conference, Durban, South Africa; World Buiatrics Conference, Budapest, Hungary; Antimicrobial Agents in Veterinary Medicine, Prague, Czech Republic and World Association of Small Animal Association, Dublin, Ireland. During the General Assembly of the Association of Veterinary Consultants in Lissabon on13. October 2008, a new board was elected. President will be Klaus Hellmann, Germany, Vice-President will be Vincent Beuvry, France. As Secreatary, Maggie Fisher, UK and as treasurer, Gert-Jan van Kesteren, The Netherlands, will continue their successful work.
